Short description
Ivona Olariu is the Executive Director of the Association of the Universities, Research and Development Institutes, and Central University Libraries in Romania “Anelis Plus” (www.anelis-plus.ro), being one of the founders of the first Romanian consortium for the acquisition of electronic resources at national level in order to support research and education in Romania. She has a PhD in Organic Chemistry and one in Library and Information Science. She founded ”Karl Kurt Klein” European Documentation Center (EDC) at Central University Library in Iasi and acted as Deputy National Coordinator of the EDCs Network in Romania. She was a member of the Pan-European Working Group (PEWG) on developing electronic repositories for the EDC network; of the PEWG for e-books, social media and electronic repositories for the EDCs, and also of the PEWG – Looking to the future (Europe Direct). Dr. Olariu is an university guest lecturer of library and information science, co-author of the Handbook on Library Science (2022, Romanian Library Association) and author of scientific papers in the field, covering topics such as library evaluation, statistics, bibliometrics and scientometrics, library consortia. She participated in national and European research projects and in national and international conferences in this field. She currently holds the position of president of Statistics and Evaluation Section of the Romanian Library Association.
