Ioana Mihaela BALAN is Assoc. Professor, PhD, DHC at University of Life Sciences ‘King Mihai I’ from Timisoara – Romania. She holds a double specialisation in Economics (Quality Management) and Animal Sciences. She is the author of several scientific papers and books on food security, food quality management, and the role of standardization in quality assurance and safety in food systems. She is active in several national and international projects as an expert in quality management and food security. Also, she is an Erasmus invited professor at universities from Asia, Africa, and Europe, a reviewer for several international journals from Europe, Africa, and Asia, and evaluator-rapporteur for the Executive Agency for the Financing of Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCDI), invited professor at Tbilisi Teaching University – Tbilisi, Georgia and at Uele University – Isiro, DR Congo. Is Doctor Honoris Causa of Tbilisi Teaching University – Tbilisi, Georgia
