Short description
Cristian Nicolae Buțincu received the B.S. degree in computer science and engineering (2001), the M.S. degree in distributed systems (2002), and the Ph.D. in computer science (2006) from the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Romania. He is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Engineering from the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Romania. He has published over 30 scientific papers, authored 1 book, co-authored 2 books and was involved in over 10 national and international research projects. His research interests include parallel and distributed computing, cluster and cloud computing, high performance computing, cybersecurity, selfhealing systems, dynamic systems, mobile agent platforms, evolutionary algorithms, artificial intelligence, big data, databases and indexing technologies, blockchain technologies. Dr. Butincu was the principal investigator of FiDisD (“Fighting disinformation using decentralized actors featuring AI and blockchain technologies”) and DIDSSI (“Blockchain-based decentralized and self-sovereign identities”). Both projects were developed in the context of the European Commission’s Next Generation Internet (NGI) initiative.
