Cornel Amariei is a Romanian-born inventor, speaker and entrepreneur known for founding .lumen, the startup that builds the first glasses aimed at increasing the mobility of the blind. Cornel was born in a family where both of his parents have disabilities. This made him not only aware of the issues of people with disabilities, but also made him act in solving their issues. Previously, Cornel was the Head of Innovation at Continental Automotive Systems, where he led autonomous driving, electric mobility, and smart sensorics projects. For his works, Cornel Amariei was the first Romanian nominated in the Forbes 30 under 30 Europe list, the first Romanian in the Global Business Hall of Fame and the first Romanian laureated in the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World, awards shared with historic personalities such as John. F. Kennedy, Elvis Presley, or Levi Strauss.
