Taming the wolf: using grey literature in academic research

Abstract
What if we told you that you are using only 12-15% of the world’s scholarly literature? Of course, you’d be surprised. But it’s true: more than 80% of all scholarly work does not get published in journals or books. It’s the world’s Grey Literature, and like the wolf, it is wild and very difficult to find. It’s high-quality, peer-reviewed, written by experts, and very current, but it is almost completely absent from researchers’ work. That’s where we can help. With Policy Commons, we locate, curate, index and preserve more than 17 million policy documents, reports, white papers and other research documents from more than 40,000 organisations across the world, including more than 24,000 documents from 64 Romanian organisations. If this has grabbed your attention, come to hear more at the Coherent Digital workshop where you will see exactly how the Policy Commons database can power your research.
