Short description
Smaranda is in her final year of high school and aspires to study Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at a university in the United Kindom or in the United States. In the past three years, she has been immersed in the world of academic debate as a Member of the Romanian National Team. At the World Schools Debating Championship of 2017 in Indonesia, she won Sixth Speaker in the non-native category. Furthermore, she strives to find solutions in order to make the world a better place: she represented Romania at the 83rd International Session of the European Youth Parliament in Switzerland and at the “Debating Threats Against Democracy” Conference in Slovakia. Smaranda is also an alumna of Aspire High School, summer course for leading Eastern European high school students which is taught by Harvard and Stanford professors. Achievements (so far): Member of the Romanian National Team of Academic Debate, Sixth Non-Native Speaker of the World Schools Debating Championship 2017 in Indonesia, Best Speaker of the Romanian National Forum of Academic Debate, Delegate of the 83rd International Session of the European Youth Parliament 2016 in Switzerland, Alumna of Aspire High School.
